LEADERS, Inc. prepares under-resourced undergraduate students for self-reliance, postgraduate opportunities, and leadership through the facilitation of, and exposure to, social and cultural competencies, professional development, and life skills.

The goal of LEADERS, Inc. is to fill the resource gap by providing undergraduate students from low socioeconomic status and/or under-resourced postsecondary institutions with comprehensive knowledge and skills required for entrepreneurial success in the ever-evolving and increasingly interconnected postgraduate world.

DR. THOMAS BULLOCK

Dr. Thomas Bullock holds a degree in Physics from Xavier University of Louisiana and an Education Doctorate in Higher Education Management and Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bullock has worked as a senior administrator in a variety of higher education institutions including, Assistant to the President of Georgetown University, Chair of the Department of Education at the University of the District of Columbia, member of the Board of Directors for the Savannah Technical College Foundation, and as a member of the NCAA DII Management Council.  


Dr. Bullock’s efforts to increase college access, retention, and graduation rates nationally recognized. He has been featured in many publications such as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Bulletin and the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Challenge Magazine. The success of his higher education programs also earned him the prestigious recognition as a 2004 Washingtonian of the Year by Washingtonian Magazine.

OUR CURRICULUM

Content experts will engage participants in  social and cultural competencies; professional development; community impact opportunities; financial literacy; postgraduate opportunities; and personal growth, using new and unique experiences. 
Concurrently, participants will engage in entrepreneurial projects related to their area of study, aimed at creating leadership efficiency through public and private ventures.
At the conclusion of the year-long curriculum, each student will be required to produce and present a community impact capstone project.

Abraham Maslow’s study of self-actualization identified traits among the top 1% of college students. His conclusions reveal timeless traits that each of us are capable of achieving.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

How we problem solve is related to how we learn, adapt to different environments, and appreciate other various points of view. Problem solving is a skill critical to academic achievement.
